EVENT : Olive Oil 101

5.00

On Sunday, March 18th at 5PM, join us in East Nashville as we transport ourselves to the Italian countryside and learn the language of olive oil. The use of olive oil is tried and true- the Egyptians, Phoenicians, Greeks, and Romans have cultivated it for more than 3000 years. It is one of the pillars of a Mediterranean diet and at MEEL, we typically recommend cooking with olive oil as part of our whole foods approach to eating. There are many health benefits associated with the consumption of extra virgin olive oil. And yes, you can cook with olive oil! It just needs to be the right quality. Join us as Nina Marton, owner of Galena Garlic Company, educates us on the world of olive oils and her certified, ultra-premium line of extra virgin olive oil. You will learn how to “taste” olive oil both on its own and as we sample Nicoletto’s fabulous focaccia, what to look for when selecting an olive oil, grades of olive oil, health benefits, growing regions, food pairings, and much more. Space is limited but it promises to be a fun and informative evening.

Date: March 18, 2018

Location: Galena Garlic, 1000 Fatherland Street (East Nashville)
