If this is your first delivery, there is nothing you need to do except wait for fresh, local ingredients to show up on your doorstep! Notification will be sent via text message once deliveries have been made.  

If your subscription ended last week (or you had a one week trial or giftcard) and are not renewing, please remember to place your wood crate and any reusable containers from the previous week's delivery (hot/cold bags, glass jars, spice tins, ice packs, & burlap bags) on your porch before 2:30pm tomorrow for pickup. Unreturned wood crates will be billed at $20 per crate and unreturned jars, spice tins, and hot/cold bags $3 each.

Have questions or need to change your delivery dates? Email us at any time! Remember that the cutoff for changes to the following week's delivery is each Wednesday at 5PM. If a cancellations comes in after 5PM on Wednesday, we charge a $25 late cancel fee to help cover the expenses incurred up until that point (we begin placing our farm orders at 5PM on Wednesdays and cannot make changes once those orders are processing). If a cancellation comes in on Thursday, we charge a 50% late cancel fee. And after 5PM on Thursday, we do have to charge for the whole crate as if you received it (or you can opt to have it delivered to a friend or relative as a gift, or we can donate it.) Thank you for subscribing to MEEL!


At MEEL, we have a long standing tradition of some variation of pumpkin soup in honor of Halloween week. Culinary traditions help establish an important rhythm associated with seasonal eating. While we can all relate to the culinary rhythms associated with Thanksgiving and Christmas, as you adapt more of a locally sourced diet, you will find that these rhythms start to emerge throughout the year. This year, we are introducing a new tradition... In honor of the Spanish tradition Dia de Los Muertos, occurring the day after Halloween, we're adding a special regional dish to the menu of an already festive week… Pozole! Pozole means 'hominy' in the Nahuatl (Aztec) and is a traditonal soup/stew served during Mexican holidays. Our version this week is made from dried pozole sourced from Rancho Gordo, which we have already prepared for you. The soup is mild, yet flavorful, and comes together quickly, traditionally garnished with radishes, cilantro and avocado slices.



It's been a long time coming but we are finally offering the most wonderful Breakfast Pie (Quiche) in the Marketplace! Prepared by Nicole Wolfe, the filling will rotate frequently based on locally sourced ingredients. Each "pie" is made with the best local farm eggs, local flour, and European-style butter, and feeds 6-8. The perfect weekend breakfast, mid-week lunch, or add a side of organic salad greens for a wonderful dinner. This week's filling is a tomato, cheddar, and bacon (optional) custard.
